چکیده

Case-based reasoning is a recognized paradigm and has been explored in both applied and methodological directions. In the several phases of CBR, the adaptation phase is certainly the most problematic whereas the most characteristic and interesting phase. We propose to view this task through a fuzzy analogical scheme. The adaptation is realized by focusing on the relation existing between the problem to be solved and the retrieved cases. Two approaches are proposed here: the relation can be captured by a fuzzy linguistic modifier or by a fuzzy interpolation. Keywords— Case-based reasoning, analogy, interpolation, adaptation, fuzzy sets.

Latent Customer Needs Elicitation by Use Case Analogical Reasoning From Sentiment Analysis of Online Product Reviews

Different from explicit customer needs that can be identified directly by analyzing raw data from the customers, latent customer needs are often implied in the semantics of use cases underlying customer needs information. Due to difficulties in understanding semantic implications associated with use cases, typical text mining-based methods can hardly identify latent customer needs, as opposite ...

F4.3 Fuzzy Case-Based Reasoning Systems

Case-based Reasoning (CBR), a method of analogical reasoning which is common and extremely important in human cognition, has only recently emerged as a major reasoning methodology. CBR involves solving new problems by identifying and adapting solutions to similar problems stored in a library of past experiences. The important steps in the inference cycle of CBR are to retrieve cases from the li...

Analogical Reasoning and Case Adaptation in Architectural Design: Computers Vs

This paper depicts the studies of the differences between human designers and computers in analogical reasoning and case adaptation. Four design experiments are undertaken to examine how designers conduct case-based design, apply dimensional and topological adaptation. The paper also examines the differences of case adaptation by novice and experienced designers, and between human judgement in ...

A Method of Similarity Metrics Using Fuzzy Integration

Similarity metrics is a central issue in automatic reasoning system, especially in case-based reasoning and analogical reasoning. This paper proposes a method of similarity metrics by focusing the similarity of features of problems which are represented by frame knowledge expressions. For retrieving the most similar previous case and adapting it in solving new problem, we think that similarity ...

Elements of a Data-Driven Approach to Adaptation

Adaptation is what enables a system to respond to perturbations in its environment. Even though case-based reasoning is commonly thought of as a data-driven problem-solving paradigm, adaptation methods often follow a model-driven pattern. This paper discusses what a purely data-driven approach to adaptation might look like. The proposed method uses co-variations to extrapolate to the target cas...
